• Profession: President of Quantrex Corporation
• Reason: To use the blessings of strength and health to help raise research money for those not so blessed which must fight the daily battle of neuromuscular disease. The deep desire and hope is that one of the dollars we raise will be that one dollar needed to find a cure for at least one of the forty different diseases which attack adults and children alike.
• Background: I am not a professional swimmer nor a professional athlete. I am just like everyone else trying to make a living and be happy. But, I have found that what makes me happiest is to use the tools I have been blessed with to make others happy. I have coached Little League for the last four years and found that the excitement and smiles of young children learning is something that makes me smile and excited. Transferring to those children my love for the game of baseball has given me great happiness. Meeting the Challenges on the baseball field or in life and overcoming them is what builds self-esteem in the children I work with, but it does not stop when you become an adult. I find the need to constantly challenge myself, mentally and physically in order to maintain my drive and self-esteem. I learned the extent to which I can push myself when I was a Navy SEAL and discovered that nothing is impossible. In the eyes of the children stricken with neuromuscular disease I see the challenge that needs to be overcome, in their lives and my own. So with the training Uncle Sam has given me and the belief that nothing is impossible... I will swim across the Chesapeake Bay... I want you to join me through your pledges and donations.
